Rouel Yosif YOUNAN

Rouel Yosif Younan passed away of natural causes on May 11, 2001 in Davis. Born on July 1, 1955 in Baghdad, Iraq, he was 45 years old.

Mr. Younin (sic) immigrated to the United States at the age of 16, and was originally a resident of Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Modesto in 1976, where he lived until 1995 when he moved to Winters with his family. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science at Stanislaus State University, and was working toward his master's degree in business administration (M.B.A.) at National University in Sacramento at the time of his passing. He held a variety of jobs in Northern California, but was mostly recently a plant manager for G.K.N. Interlake for the last two years. He was a member of the Assyrian Church of Modesto, and enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Winters; daughters, Anntonette, Ashurina and Alyssa, all of Winters; sister and brother-in-law, Henry and Mariam Bakus of Modesto; brother, Ashoor Younan of Modesto; numerous relatives, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held for Mr. Younan at the Lakewood Funeral Home in Hughson on Monday, May 14, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at the Assyrian Church of the East of Modesto. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.

Remembrances may be made in Mr. Younan's name to the American Heart Association.
