Elnor N. Siverts died May 29, 2000, at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital of a lung disease. Born Nov. 23, 1919, in Twin Falls, Idaho, she was 80.

She lived near the Madison-Dunnigan cutoff at Highway 505 for 35 years and was a homemaker and loving mother of five daughters, Sandy, Nancy, Jackie, Jan and Terri. She and her husband Jack sent the girls to Clover School and to Esparto schools.

She was a telephone switchboard operator during World War II and a receptionist at the Davis Community Hospital when it was located on County Road 99 in the 1960s. She was very active in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Woodland Chapter. She loved gardening, shopping and was partial to dachshunds as her faithful companions.

After living in Yolo County for 35 years, she moved to Boise, Idaho, to care for her father until he died, and she then moved to West Point, where she lived for 11 years.

She lived at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital for the last 3 1/2 years, where she received excellent nursing care with lots of love and hugs. The nursing staff all grieved at the loss of Elnor and said she will truly be missed, and that she was ''a lovely lady, who always had good things to say about her 'girls.' ''

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jan Lozow of Las Vegas.

She is survived by four daughters, Sandy Maynard and her husband Paul of West Point, Nancy Eckerly of Bemidji, Minn., Jackie Timothy and her husband Ron of Woodland and Terri Siverts; eight grandchildren, Brad and Mike Maynard, Sherrie Yarbough and her husband Ken, Sara Bicker and her husband Shawn of Las Vegas, Dustin and Brooke Timothy, David Siverts and Margaret Holmes; and six great grandchildren, Ashley and Erin Maynard, Cameron and Cooper Maynard, Kala and Kobie Yarbough.

She also is survived by her sister, Muriel Murphy and her husband of Toppenish, Wash.; and 10 nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1616 West St., Woodland. Senior Pastor Mel Beals will officiate. Interment will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park of Woodland.

All friends are encouraged to gather with the family at Ron and Jackie's residence for lunch and fellowship.

A reception will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the patio area at Stollwood Convalescent Hospital. All residents and nursing staff are encouraged to come and celebrate her life with the family.
