Chris John Petrakos

Chris John Petrakos died in Roseville Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at age 52.

Born Feb. 17, 1950, in Sacramento, Mr. Petrakos was a longtime resident of Sacramento. He was a resident of Roseville at the time of his death. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento. While attending Sacramento City College, he was a Student Body President. He worked for Governor Ronald Reagan, and was a 30 year lobbyist for the Manufactured Housing and School Facilities Industries in Sacramento and recently in Florida. He was a retired captain of the California National Guard Reserves after 20 years of service. According to his family members, "he was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman."

Mr. Petrakos is survived by his wife, Jennifer Stettner-Petrakos of Sacramento; son, Jonathan Petrakos; and daughter, Stephanie Petrakos of Sacramento.

He is also survived by his uncles, James Kareofelas and wife Delores of Knights Landing and Gus Petrakos and wife Lillian of Sacramento; aunts, Georgia Scribner and Necke Kareofelas of Woodland and Demetra Andronico of Kensington; and numerous cousins and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Panagiota Petrakos.

Visitation is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home, 5401 Folsom Blvd., with a Trisagion service at 7:30 p.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Alhambra and F St., Sacramento.

A funeral service is scheduled at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, also at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Alhambra and F St. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be directed to Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, Sacramento; or the charity of the donor's choice.

Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger of Sacramento is assisting the family with arrangements.
