Rose A. Zeier

Rose A. Zeier died from complications related to a chromosome disorder called Trisomy 18 on April 2, 2000, in her Woodland home. She was 19 days old.

She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Debbie Zeier of Woodland; and her siblings, Sophia, 6; Troy, 4; and Fiona, 2, all of Woodland.

Trisomy 18 and Trisomy 13 are two trisomy conditions which occur in more than 2,000 births per year in the United States. The term ''trisomy'' refers to the presence of three chromosomes rather than the usual two in the particular chromosome pair designated. Thus, children with Trisomy 18 or 13 have 47 chromosomes, rather than the usual 46.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 1616 West St., Woodland.

The Support Organization for Trisomy 18, 13 and related disorders is a network of families and professionals dedicated to providing support and understanding to families involved in the issues and decisions surrounding the diagnosis and care in Trisomy 18, 13 and related chromosomal disorders.

Memorial donations may be sent to SOFT, c/o Donations, 2982 S. Union St., Rochester, N.Y. 14624.

For more information about SOFT, visit www.trisomy.org.

McNary's Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
