Priscilla June Schafer
Priscilla June Schafer died unexpectedly following an open-heart surgery at Sutter Memorial Hospital Thursday, May 15, 2003, at age 62.
Born Aug. 1, 1940, in Redding, Mrs. Schafer was the daughter of Ida Mae Parker and the late Daniel Parker. She married Ronald Schafer in July 12, 1969. She worked at Woodland Clinic for 17 years, and 11 years for UCD Medical Center until her retirement in April 2001. She was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She also served as host family to visiting Japanese exchange students for seven years, and a volunteer with Woodland Fire Department bicycle program for two years.
Survivors include her husband of over 33 years, Ronald Schafer; children, Cordellia (Corkey) Mapalo and her husband Alan, Pauletta (Leetta) Feuerstein and her husband Mark, and Lloyd (Dino) Pyle; grandchildren, Robert Mapalo and his wife Anne, Stephanie Gomez, Christopher Mapalo, Daniel Feuerstein, Amy Feuerstein; and great-grandchildren, Christian Gomez, Richard Abston, and Abby Mapalo, all of Woodland; mother, Ida Mae Parker; brothers, Daniel Parker and wife Beverly, and Charlie Parker; and sisters, Pat Wright and husband Jack, and Pauletta Haley and husband Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Services: A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodland. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the church.
