Joyce Eileen (Kie) Susa
Joyce Eileen (Kie) Susa was born in Pittsfield, Ma. on Oct. 28, 1942.
She went to "The great beyond" unexpectedly while battling multiple medical conditions, on Saturday, June 7, 2003.
Joyce was born in Massachusetts and raised there and upstate New York. She was very strong woman who started working at the racetrack at age 13. She had to drop out of school because of hearing problems. When she started her family she continued with her education and earned her GED. From there she completed a Data Processing Trade and started working for NY State. While working and raising her family as a single mother she completed many college courses.
It was a time for change and she moved her children to California. She went through many years of working her way up the career ladder with the State of California (Dept. of Rehab.). At the time she had to medically retire she was a Senior Account Clerk. She made many friends along the way.
She was mom to many and a friend to her was family. Survived by her loving family; Sons Jeffery Oblinger and Raymond Susa; Daughter and son-in-law, Duane and Annette Griffith. Ten grandchildren and one great grandson. Her siblings: brothers, Harold and Philip Kie; sisters, Sharon Kie and Helen Loomis. Let's not forget Critter (her cat).
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 13, 2003, at 10 a.m. with Andrews and Greilich, 3939 Fruitridge Road, Sacramento, Ca. 95820.
A reception will follow location to be posted at Memorial. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to c/o Joyce Susa, P.O. Box 1152 Rio Linda Ca. 95673.
