Steve Henry Boyd
Steve Henry Boyd lost his valiant battle with a brain tumor and passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Sept. 8, 2003.
Born in Woodland, on June 4, 1951, he was 52 years old. He was raised in San Rafael and graduated from Terra Linda High School. He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, earning a BS in Animal Science. Steve partnered to build the Morning Star Trucking Company from 2 trucks in 1974 to become today's largest tomato hauler, while starting and maintaining his own SB Trucking. Since then, Steve's passionate, dedicated leadership provided a model for hundreds of drivers who passed through his hands.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Margrit; his son Kenny Boyd; and his mother, Louise Boyd of San Rafael. Also surviving are his sister, Linda Smith and husband Matt, his nephew, Erin Smith, and niece, Corinne Smith, all of Oakland; his parents-in-law, Hans and Margrit Hartmann, his brother-in-law, Hans Hartmann and wife Tina, and nephew, Scott Hartmann, all of Davis; and niece, Chantelle Hartmann of San Diego.
Preceding Steve in death is his father, Dr. Henry Boyd and his daughter, Kesty.
Steve will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man, with a quick wit who deeply touched the lives of all who knew him. Steve loved his family, his friends, and his "life." He enjoyed his 1963 Corvette, motorcross and loved the outdoors.
