Ann Madeline (Bueri) Schuler (1st of 2 obits.)

Ann Madeline (Bueri) Schuler died at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at age 97.

Born Feb. 23, 1906, in Dixon, Mrs. Schuler had been a Yolo County resident for 55 years. She attended Dixon Day school. She was a homemaker and dairy person for 70 years. She owned a dairy in Woodland. She was a member of the Western Dairy Association.

Survivors include her son, Herbert Schuler and wife Marlene of Woodland; daughter, Annie Wantz and husband Richard of Lodi; grandchildren, Laurie Flynn and husband Tom, Kathy Henderson and husband Dave, Steven Schuler and wife Trish, all of Woodland, and Crystal Graham and husband Mike of Lodi; great-grandchildren, Johnny and Joey Graham of Lodi, Claire Henderson and Matthew Schuler of Woodland; and sister, Julia (Bueri) Lienau of Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Schuler, in 1961; sisters, Josephine Brown, Elizabeth Bueri, Katherine Howell; and brother, John Bueri; as well as her parents, John and Catherine (Ricci) Bueri.

The family requests memorials be directed to charity of donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.

Services: A vigil service is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 23, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St. A Catholic funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with a burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Woodland.

Ann Schuler (2nd of 2 obits.)

Ann Madeline (Bueri) Schuler passed away in the Woodland Memorial Hospital Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, just nine days before her 98th birthday. All her family was at her bed side. She was born in Dixon, and moved with her parents John and Catherine Bueri to Davis and grew up. Ann met her future husband Herbert Schuler and they were married on Aug. 25, 1936. They moved to Elmira where they owned and operated a dairy ranch. They moved to Woodland in 1942 and started another dairy ranch on Kentucky Avenue where they were in business for 14 years. They had one son Herbert Schuler Jr. and a daughter Annie (Schuler) Wantz.

Ann's interest was raising cattle, farming, growing her own vegetables in her garden, cooking, and sewing. Ann loved life and she enjoyed beautiful things. She always enjoyed children and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Herbert Schuler and wife Marlene of Woodland; a daughter Annie (Schuler) Wantz and husband Richard of Lodi, Ca. Four grandchildren Laurie Flynn and husband Tom, Kathy Henderson and husband Dave, Steven Schuler and wife Trish, all of Woodland, and Crystal Graham and husband Mike of Lodi. Ann also has four great-grandchildren Johnny and Joey Graham of Lodi and Claire Henderson and Matthew Schuler of Woodland. One sister Julia (Bueri) Lienau of Davis who is 100 years old.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Schuler, in 1961; sisters, Josephine Brown, Elizabeth Bueri, Katherine Howell; and brother, John Bueri.

Friends are invited to attend the vigil service to be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, Ca. and are also invited to attend the funeral mass to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery to follow. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements, 662-5411.
