Robert Edward Gatton

Robert Edward Gatton, died at the Woodland Clinic on Thursday, July 29, at the age of 87.

Born Dec. 2, 1916 in St. Joseph, Mo., Mr. Gatton had been a Woodland resident since 1983.

He was in the Army-Air Force from 1941 to 1945, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. While in the service he was stationed in England. Mr. Gatton married Barbara Gibson in November 1942, before leaving for England. After the war, they moved to Downey and remained there until 1983. That year the couple moved to Woodland to be closer to their daughter and grandsons.

Survivors include Mr. Gatton's wife Barbara and daughter Barbara Gaffney, both of Woodland. He is also survived by his grandsons Kyle Miller and his wife Kendra of San Luis Obispo and P.R. Gaffney of Fresno and great-granddaughter Akayla Miller.

Services: No service is scheduled as per Mr. Gatton's request.
