Harold Robben, Sr.

Harold Robben Sr. of Dixon died Aug. 20, 2004. He was 81.

Born Sept. 26, 1922, in Dixon, Robben was a descendant of the pioneer Robben family, one of the first five families to settle in Dixon. He spent his entire life in Dixon.

He worked as a cattle rancher and spent 40 years with Stoeven Brothers Meat Packing.

He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed deer hunting in the Vacaville hills. He took many trips to Colorado with his sons and friends to hunt elk and deer. He coached his sons' and grandsons' Little League teams. His family says he enjoyed any activity that involved spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Millie Robben; daughter Judy Owen; sons Gene Robben and his wife Elizabeth, and Robert Robben and his wife Suzie; grandchildren Scott, Spencer, Amanda, Maria, Maryann, Sarah and Joanna; and great grandchildren Alyssa, Brandon, Taylor and Cole.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Dixon High School Sports Program at First Northern Bank, Dixon Branch, 195 N. First St. in Dixon.
