Augustina (Tina) Coombs

Augustina (Tina) Coombs died quietly in her home on Feb. 10, 2005 surrounded by her family. Tina was born Sept. 27, 1916 in Killawai, Hawaii to Feliz and Crestencia Gonzales. Later, the family moved to Winters where she helped on the ranch and attended Olive School. Tina married Bob Coombs on Oct. 24, 1937 and they had one daughter, Judy.

Tina was preceded in death by her husband Bob, who died three months and three days before her. Also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Tina is survived by her daughter Judy and her husband, Jim Correia of Arbuckle, grandsons Kevin Correia of Arbuckle, Craig and wife Lisa Correia of College City, granddaughter Tammy Haynie of Moses Lake, WA., seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

Tina is also survived by two sisters, Theresa Sackett of Winters and Victoria Weber of Hawaii, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Tina was known as "the sunshine of the family."

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at the Winters Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her name to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA, 95616.
