Gordie Marie Snell

Gordie Marie Snell died on March 5, 2005, at Sierra Health Care in Davis. Born Sept. 7, 1909, in Mansfield, Texas, to George and Fannie Ray, she was 95.

A graveside funeral service begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Davis Cemetery, 820 Pole Line Road in Davis.

She was raised in Texas and taught school for several years. She and her late husband George owned and operated their own florist in For Worth, Texas, for more than 30 years. After the couple retired, they traveled throughout the United States and Canada for more than 20 years, before moving to Davis in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George W. Snell, in February 1999.

She is survived by her son, Bob Snell and his wife Joy of Davis; her daughter, Shirley A. Nevile and her husband William of Canton, Texas; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Sierra Health Care for their fantastic care of her.
