Hi List -

I am a volunteer for the Western and Southern suburbs of Chicago and
have take a fair amount of photos for other members of this list.
However, yesterday I ran into a new situation for me and was wondering
how other list members/volunteers would handle this situation.

I visited a local cemetery, went to the office to verify the information
on lot/plot/grave that I was given by the requestor, was given maps by
the woman in the office and went off looking for these gravesites.
However, I could not find them. I went back to the office and asked if
their records showed whether or not a marker or headstone was on the
gravesite and was told that, in at least one case, there was no
marker/headstone. In the other cases, their records did not show if the
grave was marked.

How have other volunteers dealt with unmarked graves? Do you take
photos of the surrounding areas? I'd be interested in hearing all
suggestions.
