I'm a little disappointed in the way things went yesterday. They entered the right groin, went up to the "Y" and made a right turn where everything appeared to be normal. When they reached the left knee they found a complete blockage that prevented placement of balloon or stent.

Surgery, I was told, was an option but not one they wanted to take since the probability of harm far outweighed the probability of any sort of "fix". I am now told that capillaries are handling the distribution of blood but not to the level of efficiency that will allow for walking any distance without pain. In short, I am to walk and hurt over the option of surgery.

Future surgery will remain an option when the probability of losing the limb outweighs the probability of saving the limb. I didn't like the sound of that much, but both options outweigh the alternative beyond that being discussed.

Let time tell .... for now I will not be entering a foot race in the foreseeable future.
