We don't have deeds, but I have always wondered if that would not be a better
system that just designation of lots, since tracing lot ownership is often a
nightmare. We would probably use many old lots that were purchased and the
buyers were buried elsewhere, or a couple has divorced [i.e.- which really
owns it?], moved away, or bought more lots than needed. [i.e.- my grandad
bought more than enough lots to bury every existing descendant. Unless my
brother's youngest two produce kids, our line will disappear when the
existing family dies off. There will be at least 8 unused lots, if that is
the case.
