be careful about what cemetery officials or town officials tell you i’ve had experiences
the last six months that is enough to drive you crazy
# 1 my grandmother and great grandfather buried in a large cemetery in New Jersey I had
the obituaries kocal and state death certificates and a photograph of my father at his
mother’s grave and after three phone calls being told they do not exsit I found them
there
# 2 I had found reference to my wife’ ninth great grandparents being buried in the next
town and calling the church no they are not here and calling the church next door again
no they are not here I stopped by the church yard not only are both stones in excellent
condition and maybe fifty feet from the back door of both churches there is a large
granite marker maybe twenty years old considering both churches are national historic
sites and documented by everybody under the sun these relativetly impoirtant individuals
were still missed
# 3 a church and grave yard that was started in the early 1700’s with many relatives
cannot not even be found at the county archives, town archives, and when any vauge
reference to these werre found the location was off by tens of miles
your problem may be misfiled records, mispelled names, the area the town covers may have
changed so the cemetery may be in the next town or totally different town such as
happens in New Jersey if you have a relative buried in Shrewsbury, it may be a third of
the state or the present day two square miles.in other words don’t give up keep calling
or sending letters you may get lucky or they may just get tired and go look it up.by the
way the church is under the Garden State Parkway Mil post 98.1
