Me too, Richard,
I have finally found my Mom's sister's grave(she died as a child of 9).
She was buried with her grandmother, and there was the usual family fight
over who was to pay for the headstone for granny!
I don't understand why my grandfather would not put a marker on his
daughter's grave, unless he figured the other brothers would add the
grandmother's name to it.
The ground is so rocky that they couldn't bury 2 people deep, so they are
side by side. I want to mark their graves, but the expense is daunting. 5
or 6 hundred is a lot of money. Maybe I could ask the family for donations?
Petronila Budin is grandmother, ggrandmother, and gggrandmother to a LOT of
people!
It breaks my heart that this child and this wpman have been neglected for
over 85 years.
If anyone has any ideas, please address the list with answers. there have
to be more of us in the same boat.
In this same cemetery, Weehawken, NJ, I saw a grave marker made up of iron
pipes, shaped into a cross with crude initials punched into a piece of tin
& tied to the middle of the cross. Hopefully there is a middle ground, cost
wise!
Jo
