Hi Linda,
Thanks for your thoughts! What is left of the cemetery is only three small
lots. We have a big group of volunteers.
We are contacting big businesses and descendants but the money is not coming in
as fast as we would like. We have some donated services and materials.

A few members have had parents die and they have asked for donations to the
cemetery fund in leu of flowers. We also have small envelopes made up with our
groups name and we left them at the funeral homes around town.

We have brochures and flyers to hand out to churches and other organizations. We
have done a lot of the leg work and now just have to wait for the money to come
in.

But our problem is that the people know that the developer is getting paid for
the three lots and they are mad about it. They think he should not get a dime
and should donate the three lots. He knew there were remains on the land and he
started to dig anyway. We had to make a deal with him to even get the bare
bones reburied. It has been a mess and I will be so glad when it is over. They
are willing to donate to the memorial and landscaping but do not want that
"developer" to get a dime of their money.
