You know, I don't think that I could have said that any better. And here I
thought that I was alone in thinking that...:)

Don't take me wrong! I learned a lot at the conference. It was just
different from the conference in Oregon two years ago when more seminars
were offered covering a larger variety of cemetery issues. This was only my
second AGS conference and I am hoping 2004 will be in Washington state, and
that I'm allowed to put it together.
The conference was...well, not what I expected. I am finding that the route
we are taking (preserving cemeteries and ensuring they do not disappear) is
not <pause> quite <pause> in line with AGS' thesis. AGS studies headstones,
visits cemeteries, learn about types of headstones, carvers, stone
conservation, things revolving around headstones, while we work on laws,
ownership issues, cleaning cemeteries, and, yeah, a part of all that is
conserving the stones, too. The better description would be: AGS covers
stone conservation and it's genre while "we" are covering cemetery
conservation and it's genre.
