Subject: [CENSUS-CHAT] New York Census- Brooklyn, 1910
Date: Sun, 9 Jan 2000 19:00:45 EST
If anyone has access to New York Census info for 1910, I am searching for
information on the following:
My great-grandfather, Frederick Charles DeGrasse, born 12/16/1900, died in
New Orleans 10/72. He moved to New Orleans while serving in the US Navy in
1921 from Brooklyn, N.Y. His siblings included John, Edna and Lillian and
his father's name was also Frederick DeGrasse (whose descendants reside in
Brooklyn). His father died ~1947. If someone could look up census data for
1910, then Frederick Jr. would have still lived with his parents. I have
been unable to locate any information on Frederick's ancestors.
I looked up the information for N.Y. and it appears you have to know the
county. It looks like Kings County would be the one, but someone more
familiar with N.Y. may know otherwise, as I saw a Queens and Cuyahoga County
listed for Brooklyn, also.
Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Liz Orihel
