Hello Kathleen,
Welcome to the list. I just subscribed in the fall of 2002, but it doesn't
seem that the list has been very active. I'm a lookup volunteer on several
census lists, as well as List Administrator of the OHIO Census list.
I would like to see some information shared on the list about other
resources for census indexes besides ancestry.com (which I have a
subscription to). As anyone who has a subscription knows, they don't have
complete indexes for 1860, 1870 or 1900. I know genealogy.com
has the 1900 indexed, but I can't afford both subscriptions.
Also, would the list be an appropriate place to "vent" our frustrations
sometimes when people make requests without including
necessary information? It feel like a broken record sometimes, trying to
get the point across that we can't just find John Smith, 3 yrs. old
"somewhere in Ohio". <smile>
Warm Regards,
Marilyn in Ohio
