Subject: Hebrew & Arabic Testing

I have a request for anyone out there that may be working in Hebrew or
Arabic and could do an experiment on CFT-Win Ver 3. It looks like there is
a new version of my TX text control used in Ver 3 just released. Been
anxiously waiting for it since it supports UNICODE and will allow us to use
Unicode fonts in CFT-Win such as Hebrwe, Arbaic, Cyrillic, Eastern
European, etc.
The issue with Hebrew and Arabic is the direction of writing - right to
left - which I would like to experiment with. What I am interested in is
whether you can copy any Hebrew or Arabic text into entry fields in CFT-Win
Ver 3. If you went to the Program Config (Option Menu) and created a new
Hebrew/Arabic language and then went to Database Config and set reports to
that language. (Using a Hebrew or Arabc font.)
There are two types of entry fields in CFT-Win. You may not recogmize them
but basically they are called ENTRY and TEXT fields. An entry field is a
single line and text field is a multi-line. For example the person's name
is an "entry' field and if you edited a soruce in the Source List editor
then all fields there are text (or multi-line). Anyway there are only THREE
types of fields in CFT-Win: Text, entry and TXcontrol The TX control is the
word processor type NOTE filed in ind and event editors. I'm not interested
in testing that yet.
Now after this long introduction I was wondering whether Hebrew or Arabic
text will paste or "type"? correctly into both types of fields - both ENTRY
and TEXT. Can anyone verify this for me? I realize that the text will be
left justified for now, I think. It may be that these fonts will auto-right
justify in a text field. Can anyone verify this?
Thanks, Ira
