I use the Alternate Name (unofficial name) Event with the full married name
with /MARRIED SURNAME/, which I think works well.

Subject: [CFTW] Married women's names

The problem of finding a married woman when she is listed under her married
name eg on death/burial has annoyed me for some time. Has anyone found a
solution within CFTW? I have considered setting up a separate database to
cross-reference the surnames but perhaps there is an easier way?

The similar problem of what to call women whose maiden name is unknown is
also something someone may have solved. In some programs it is possible to
put brackets round the surname but in CFTW that sorts them at the front of
the alphabet. My solution-for-now is to call them SURNAMEWIFE, which at
least places them close alphabetically to their husbands. One interesting
result is a HOUSEWIFE! Any better solutions?

I repeat this message in the hope that someone will comment this time,
please?
