Looking for information on a family of Garcelons who lived on Guernsey back
in the early to late 1700s. Rev Pierre Garcelon was the rector of one of
the parish churches there on Guernsey, St. Pierre du Bois, until his death
in 1772. From the information I have, his wife was a Jeanne Bedat. They
had 8 children (?), 5 daughters and 3 sons. They were supposedly born in
France, around Clermont.

My questions are centered around the following.

1. What information is available (general) as to where they lived, died,
etc.. Is there a cemetary adjacent to St. Pierre du Bois, and are they
buried there?
2. What are the names of the children? What became of them?
3. What, in general, caused them to leave France and come to Guernsey?
4. Is there any specific information over there available in Libraries,
etc., that would be of help to me?

We are considering coming over there this summer as part of our holiday to
Europe. If someone has any information, please let me know.

Thanks, Dan Dunbar
