There were two CI vessels named Roebuck. The first was built in 1897.
Caught fire in 1905 & sunk, but was refloated. Grounded off Jersey in 1911
and was re-floated and put ashore in St Brelade's bay. Eventually name was
changed to Roedene and she finally sank during war service in 1915.

The second was built in 1925. Served in CI route until 1965.

I have an undated photograph (probably 1900-1910) of the first Roebuck
while berthed in St Helier harbour.

They were both GWR vessels.

With best wishes
