I had looked for the births of his children and it was not until I

were at least 10 years out!!! No wonder I couldn't find them!
I was able to track some of the family through the Electoral Rolls:
1931 Waitaki Electoral Roll
D'AUVERGNE
Edward Charles, Waihao Forks, Farmer
La'Tour (sic), 'Te Wairua', Waihao Forks, farmer
Lilian Dale, Wiohoa Forks, md

Exactly the same for 1835, 1938, 1941

Lilian Dale, Point Bush Road, Waimate, md
Mary, Point Bush Road, Waimate, spinster
1949 and 1954
only Lilian (described as widow) and Mary, details as above
1957 - WAITAKI Electoral Roll (they are constantly renaming and changing
boundaries!!)
Adele Mary, Point Bush Road, Spinster
Lilian Dale, Point Bush Road, widow
1960
Adele Mary, Point Bush Road, Spinster
Bonamy William C. - Princes Street, Waimate, Agent
Lilian Dale, Point Bush Road, widow
Mary Frances, Princes Street, md

Didn't know about Bonamy William C.!!! Presumably a son? Will take
another look for births when next at the library.
