Listers,

I have just joined the list, so please treat me gently until I get the hang
of this one.

The names I am researching are as follows :-

Guernsey,

Kil(l)mi(n)ster
Rosewell

Jersey - now here I have a problem.

>From the 1881 Census CD's, I have a family as follows :-

4 Quenet Road, St Brelade, Jersey
William NORSETTA head age 57 Born Dorset
Ann NORSETTA wife age 38 born St Brelade Jersey
William NORSETTA son age 22 born Dorset
George NORSETTA son age 17 born St Brelade Jersey
Charles F NORSETTA son age 14 born St Brelade Jersey
Amely J NORSETTA dau age 11 born St Brelade Jersey
Ann NORSETTA dau age 7 born Dorset
Victoria NORSETTA dau age 5 born Dorset
Nelly NORSETTA dau age 3 born Dorset
Louisa NORSETTA dau age 1 born Dorset

The males were labourers and the females scholars.

My problem is that I am tracing the NORSTER family from Dorset, and cannot
find any trace of these member in Dorset, or even in the GRO listings for
the relevant years. The name is too similar to abandon.

Is SKS able to look at preceding, and subsequent Census to see if they
remained on Jersey, and whether the information differs.

Thanks in advance,
