Legacy 3.0 is now free. You can download it at www.legacyfamilytree.com. If
you are happy with it you can always upgrade to Legacy 4. In the past I
have always used Family Tree Maker but after trying Legacy 3 I've decided to
upgrade to Legacy 4. Also if you try Legacy 3 and don't like it you aren't
out any money and could still buy Family Tree Maker. I liked Family Tree
Maker until I tried Legacy.

Family Tree Maker is the only one I have tried, but it is a doddle, with
what
looks like a card index system (for parents etc), and spaces for photos data
etc Not a lot of print-out plans, but the "book" saves an awful lot of
time
(and worry).
The price is reasonable, and easy to back-up, too.
