The "Bastardry Bond" or "Bastard Bond" has never existed in the C.I.. In a limited
sense of origin, these MAY have been Anglo-Saxon, or Celtic? and then localised, or
are they Colonial ? ? --
The Channel Islands has most customs that are of Norman origin and I have never seen
such redress.
I have come across occasional historic instances where the Parish Rector would put
pressure onto the 'known' illegitimate father........

....... that is if the unmarried mother-to-be did not already have a shot-gun toting
father or mother.
