I believe I found the earliest reference to my family living on Jersey.
Joseph Carswell, born in Kent Co. Dover at St James the Apostle Church in
1786.
He married a Jersey girl, Sophia (unknown) who was born St Helier in 1799.
If anyone might have information as to who Sophias family might have been,
names, dates, etc. I would greatly appreciate the help.
And is there anyone on the list who might know Dover well enough to answer a
few questions?
