Hi Alex
Thanks for your message. Tom Remfrey lent me a pile of papers, books and
documents to look at a few days ago which he had accumulated in the
course of some research he has been doing. We got chatting down at the
harbour one day and discovered we had this mutual interest in island
history. He is most interested in the deportations that took place
during the occupation. I am going to try to meet up with him this week
sometime to have a chat about the papers he has lent me, and others that
he has at home, and will hopefully find out more details then. The copy
of the 'census' was given to him by another Sark resident, and I believe
another copy was to be sent to the States Archivist in Guernsey, but
that is all I know about it so far. When I have spoken to Mr Remfrey I
will email you back and let you know what he has said. In the meantime
if you would like me to forward on any details from the 'census' to you,
please don't hesitate to ask.
Best wishes
Liz

Do you know where the original of this census is to be found ? I am
working on updating my Sark Family History and Datestones Web Pages and
spent a few days there, and in Guernsey, recently. This 'census' didn't
show up among the records I looked at.

What official documents does Tom hold? I only know of him as the expert
on the Sark Silver Mines.
:-)))
