Subject: Question on Alice Jane McFarling

Hi All,

I'm doing a research on my McFarling Family Tree, and i'm a bit confused, and i was wondering if their is anyone out there who can help me.
I have a marriage certificate of my 3xgreataunt Alice Jane McFarling, married 05-07-1879 to Joseph Gray in the parish of St.Helier, Jersey, she was 21 and he was 22, that makes Alice's birth abt 1858, stating her birth as St.Helier, and the residence of marriage Hill Street, St.Helier, and her father named Joseph McFarling a coal merchant.
I have had look-ups on the censuses, i did find the family, but there isn't any mention of Alice.

I like anyone out there, who can help me with a couple of questions, or maybe a look-up on a birth on Alice Jane McFarling.

1) Why on the census, isn't there any mention Alice Jane McFarling.

2) And as there no mention of Alice on the census, can i still obtain a birth certificate.

Any reply will be very much appreciated!
