Interestingly, I put "Jersey" in the keyword field, and came up with no
results at all. Would both have been recorded as "Guernsey" for some odd
bureaucratic reason?? Or was this the only surviving record?

Hi Everyone,

I checked out Library and Archives Canada's new listing: Immigrants to
Canada before 1865. I put Guernsey into the Keyword and came up with the
following list which may prove helpful to people:

A little more information is connected with each name, for instance John

Additional Information: with wife and 1 child.
Document Title: List of Inhabitants of the Island of Guernsey who wish to
emigrate to British North America, 24 April 1816.
Fonds Title: CO 42. Canada, formerly British North America,
Original Correspondence Reference: MG 11 CO 42 Volume: Q.139 Page: 10, 37
Microfilm: C-11924

There must have been some reason they all came in the same year, fishing
perhaps? Does anyone know and can fill us all in?

best wishes,
Lorna
