Hi Marg & Mike,
I notice you have a Romeril in your list of research names Marg. How far
back are they and did any ever go across to Guernsey?
We have a Marie Romry/Romery of Jersey who married Jean Le Lacheur (bapt 5
Nov 1694 St PduB) They married on 5 May 1720 in St Pierre Du Bois. We have
been told that the name was actually Romeril if she came from Jersey. Her
marriage record gave no clues as to what part of Jersey she came from or
what her father's name was. Her death record provided no clues either. She
is a complete dead end for us.
If your Romerils go back that far, do you have any who went to Guernsey and
possibly married a Le Lacheur? Very long shot, but you never know if you don
t ask.
I must have a look at the Jersey index on Jerripedia Mike. Sounds like it is
going to become a great resource. It would be good if we could do the same
for Guernsey on Donkipedia. I'm happy to put the ones I have, including
godparents, onto a spread sheet if a Guernsey list ever goes up.
Cheers,
Diane
