Dear Cheryl,
We are always happy to hear from a new Chastain cousin. The first thing I'm
going to suggest that you do is to view the Pierre Chastain Family Association
Homepage on the Net. URL is: http://www.kopower.com/~jimchstn/ You will
find many interesting facts about the Chastain family here.

There are many Chastine families around. This is just one of the variant
spellings of the name Chastain. There are also these: Chasteen, Chesteen,
Shasteen, Shattain and even more in France.

Yes, our immigrant ancestor, Chastain came from Charost, Prov. of Berri,
France, following the trail of many Huguenots from France to Switzerland, then
Holland and finally England. They sailed from England in 1700 , arriving in
July of that year in Virginia.

Hope you enjoy the PCFA Homepage.
Gerre
