Yes, this is exactly right, Jana. Now, the Cherokee way is that the father
would take the umbilical cord and carry it however many hills corresponded
with how many more children he wanted, and bury it there. If he wanted three
more children, he walked three hills to bury it.
Cherokee umbilical cords were not put in this type of beaded pocket that I
know of. It seems to me that I recall them being put in perhaps a red cloth?

IF there ever was an umbilical cord in those that are for sale, it is long
gone by now. Really is no different than selling old moccasins that once
held a foot.

Just my opinion though.
