I also have another question that perhaps someone who knows about the
Cheshire region could help with. On the birth certificate for John
Alexander Kirby that I have, in the 'When and Where Born' column it has
the following:

Second
July
1935
"Jesmondene"
Narborough Road
Braunstone
R.D.

The address for the parents is 241 Narborough Road, could anyone tell me
what the 'Jesmondene' refers to? Is it just a local district? or the name
of their house? doctor? pet cat? And what does the R.D. stand for?

I hope this is an appropriate question for this list.
