Hi
and I'm the Dave Smith that Geoff mentions above. Coincidentally, I was
just getting around to putting the fascinating story of the escapades of
the youngest daughter Gladys into a Web page on my site. It is now there
for all to see at:
www.diskdoctor.co.uk/geneal.html
There you will find the fascinating story how I started with a scrap of
paper formally handing over my mother, Sheila Holdsworth Hudson, to her
foster parents in 1923 and ended up finding two other half sisters of
whom she was unaware. The story took a leap forward recently when I
discovered Geoff on the Internet. I'm now continuing to try to locate my
missing Grandfather! Any ideas or help will be gratefully received!
Family names in Cheshire, Shropshire and the neighbourhood in which I am
interested as well as the direct HEATH line of Geoffs are:
Hudson (pre 1822, possibly Shropshire)
Hale (pre 1815)
Boden (pre 1819)
Stockton (pre 1772)
Bolton (pre 1732)
Chesters (pre 1815)
Nield (pre 1821)
Phillips (pre 1790, possibly Shropshire)
and, of course, the missing HOLDSWORTH, probably from Manchester, around
the time of WW1!
Waiting for your "call"!............
