Hi all,
I am currently corresponding (via snail-mail) with a gentleman in
Willaston, South Wirral. He also has BRYAN in his family line and we are
trying to find a common connection. He has sent me an amazing amount of
information and the latest is very interesting. My friend has looked up
the books for Playbrick Cemetery, Bidston Birkenhead and it looks like he
has located my gg grandparents Elizabeth and George BRYAN. The interesting
thing is that there are other (family?) members buried in the same grave.
The other two surnames are McNAMARA and WILKINSON. I have not come across
these names in my research to date and I don't know who they are.
The information I have is;
Graves purchased by G.V. BRYAN, 15 Coburg Street, Birkenhead. 5/8/1916.
Grave section 2. Grave No. 744. Total in grave as list.
644 5/8/1916 Elizabeth BRYAN 66yr Wife of
George
1815 18/2/1920 Hugh MCNAMARA 3yr
2295 26/7/1921 George Valentine BRYAN 43yr Labourer*
3144 24/4/1924 George Valentine BRYAN 74yr Collector*
9101 5/2/1953 Arthur WILKINSON 65yr
*
* The person who signed the burial form for the last three was Mary Ann
WILKINSON.
Elizabeth BRYAN was residing at 15 Coburg Street, Birkenhead when she died.
The two George's were residing at 9 Ann Street Birkenhead, when they died.
I have not yet discovered the maiden name of Elizabeth, but she may well
have been a McNAMARA or a WILKINSON.
The second piece of information I have is the burial of James Arthur BRYAN.
James was a son of George and Elizabeth above.
Grave Section 1. Grave No 140.
11148 23/11/1899. Margaret QUARRIE 89yr Widow of John
QUARRIE
12929 20/5/1905 Thomas QUARRIE 50yr Tailor
14105 23/4/1909 Margaret Mary QUARIE 14mn
15083 27/9/1912 James Arthur BRYAN 43yr Marine Fireman
211 19/3/1915 Bridget QUARRIE 53yr Widow
6910 9/9/1936 Catherine BRYAN 67yr Widow*
*Michael QUARRIE signed form.
If anyone on the list is researching McNAMARA, QUARRIE and/or WILKINSON
I would very much like to hear from you.
