Silk weaving was also to be found in Leigh, Lancs - it may not have been as localised as it is today. There
does not have to be a connection Macc/Wrex. There is a forum on silkweaving on the Onelist website - not much
traffic though.

I am a member of both the Clwyd and Cheshire groups: in my MASSEY
research, I have found that there were silkweavers in Wrexham in 1666 and
1692 (from baptism entries in Parish Registers): is there any record of a
link between the towns from the industry, which might account for the
Cheshire name Massey appearing in foreign parts ?
