The 1851 Nantwich census index is available from the CFHS per David Johnson, 91 Stretford House, Chapel Lane, Stretford, Manchester M32 9AY, at £3. 00 including postage, cheques to FHS of Cheshire. The one parish church is St. Mary and St. Nicholas. Regards, Don Tomkinson

Subject: [CHS] 1851 census Nantwich GREENWAY

Hi list: has anybody by any chance indexed the 1851 (or even the 1841) census for Nantwich? Alternatively can somebody tell me how big the town was at those two years? I am trying to trace John (or possibly James) Greenway, son of Henry, born Nantwich 1839. Also, was there just one church? Could someone supply me with a name please? Many TIA. Michael (Peterborough, Cambs, UK)
