Hello Ann,

The Weaver Navigation Records are in Cheshire Record Office, and the
index is good. I found my ancestors in the Winsford Day Books, which
have names of boats & owners, details of cargoes & sometimes names of
masters. Also in the Register of Weighed Flats - 1859-1890. There are
records of unemployed men - these are mostly labourers and men who towed
the boats, and apprenticeship records, and in the Winsford & Northwich
Tonnage books.

I found records going back to the 18thC. Good Hunting ! ... Elizabet
