I am trying to learn if there were any factories where staymakers would have
worked in Stockport between 1850-1880. I have been told a staymaker most
likely worked in a corset factory, although it might have been a factory to
make sails. It was suggested that I contact the Stockport Archive Service to
see if they knew of factories in existence at that time where my
gggrandparents might have worked. I used the following e-mail address that
was given to me, and that was also on a web page. Apparently this is no
longer a workable e-mail address. Does anyone know if they still have an
e-mail address or what their new one might be?
