Many of you will be relieved to hear I finally got my film of the Open
Universities visit to Blithfield Haff, Staffordshire, home of the BAGOT
family.

What has confused me is a statement by PRO that "from 1801 we have the
census which helps family histotians............." I was always under the
impression the first census was in 1841.

Can anyone enlighten me, please?
