Isn't Wallasey part of the Wirral? :-) Our volunteers have only
been at Birkenhead register office for a few weeks, but they've
already done the births for Wallasey sub-district from 1837 to 1855,
and we're hoping for a large batch of marriages from the Wirral sometime soon.
Please remember that the records don't computerise themselves, and
for the most part we're reliant on unpaid volunteer transcribers,
often working in less than ideal conditions. I realise that it must
be disappointing if your area of interest isn't covered yet, but the
alternative would be to wait five or six years until all the records
were complete, before putting the records on-line. At least this way
you get them as soon as they're available.
