Perhaps he means he receives the Digest but doesn't read it, but I wish to
reassure Digesters that the Digest contains ALL messages sent via the
List. It just uses a different way of packaging messages for delivery.

Subscribers to the List receive messages individually.
Subscribers to the Digest receive them in a bundle.

Many replies are of interest only to the person who asked the question so
should be sent off-list. If a reply is of general interest then it should
be sent via the list.

It is also helpful when a questioner gets back to the list to tell us the
results of off-list replies, good or bad.
