It seems to be a popular misconception that because something has
been filmed by the Mormons then its contents must be in the IGI. But
inputting the entries from just a few pages from a parish register
can take most of a day, so it's definitely quicker to microfilm a
register than to type it up :-)
The IGI for Cheshire is only around 15 to 20% complete, so it always
pays to search the original registers, even if they are among the few
parishes to have whole registers transcribed in full.
