Trying to establish if SAMUEL BARLOW born 1844 in Congleton according to 1881, 1891 Censuses.
Possible that Samuel was the son of THOMAS BARLOW and MARY BARLOW, In the 1841 Congleton Census, enumeration district 5, page 17 is the following.
THOMAS BARLOW 40 Shoemaker
MARY BARLOW 14 Silk throwster
JOHN BARLOW 12 Silk throwster
MARY BARLOW 10 Silk throwster
THOMAS BARLOW 2
JOHN BARLOW 1 month.
This looks a possibility to be my folks with SAMUEL born later, 1851 CONGLETON CENSUS would determine matter's, Would any person kindly look up said census, if they have said Census, not possible till next month to travel to CRO.
I have SAMUEL's Wedding Certificate, and Death Certificate, I have no proof of Birth, ONS, Macclesfield and Crewe Registrars have failed to find his record. The puzzle is that the birth entry of SAMUEL at Congleton does not match. JOHN KIRKWOOD of California kindly searched National GRO Indexes for me, for 1843-45 and extracted all the SAMUEL BARLOW's. If the 1881 and 1891 Censuses are correct, he was born between Jan 1st and 2nd April, there is three register's of birth for 1844 Q1, Macclesfield; Wirral; Bury.
SAMUEL BARLOW'S youngest son WILLIAM BARLOW died aged 28, Monday, 4th November 1918, buried at AWOINGT CEMETERY, NORD, FRANCE, his name is on CWGC, CREWE's War Memorial, and possible that William's brother's Samuel and FREDERICK also lost their life's in WW1, awaiting confirmation. WILLIAM BARLOW my Grandfather was born 21-3-1890 at 91, Derby Street, MONKS COPPENHALL, CREWE, Married LILY KATHLEEN COLEMAN 11-7-1914, He was a fitter at Crewe Railway Works, they had one child, WILLIAM JOHN BARLOW, MY FATHER, found a cousin in CREWE, she said he was living in NSW Australia in 1959, remarried, and not heard of him since, all efforts to obtain his address from her, have failed. my brother and I were separated as children, I never knew my Grandparents names, hence it's been a long hard road to get this far. Visiting Cemeteries, perusing tens of thousands of gravestones, in mostly wet weather, and last year discovered my Grandmother Lily's resting place in Crewe Cemetery, and then obtaining death certificate and Informant's name, whom turned out to be my cousin, and resulting in obtaining my long lost brother's where-about, we now are in regular contact, and together seeking our roots , hope we succeed. Thanks to Sherry Landa, Susan SANDBACH Mellot, Sandra aol. com, Regards to you all.
