Newcomers to CHESHIRE-L might not have seen the CheshireBMD web-site,
which contains indexes to the births, marriages and deaths held at
the county's local register offices. This project is the first of its
kind anywhere in the country and will take a few years to complete,
but new data is being added as soon as it's transcribed and checked
by our teams of volunteers. The following additions have just been
made to the database:

42,484 births added for the following sub-districts:
Bollington (1888-1905)
Chester Cathedral (1875-79)
Gawsworth (1882-1905)
Knutsford (1859-1898)
Prestbury (1859-1908)
Sutton (1859-1868)
Tattenhall (1885-1899)
Wilmslow (1859-1903).

1,162 marriages added for:
Egremont St John (1837-1900)
Moreton Christ Church (1864-1900)
Wirral Civil Marriages (1837-1851)

This brings the total number of births to 601,414 and marriages to
217,146, with more additions expected before the end of the month.
