Below is an extract from Bagshaw's Directory for Cheshire, 1850.
Wonder what happened to the interred and their headstones?
Lostock Green consists of a number of farms and cottages, about 1 mile
south from the church, and about the same distance from Moss Lane, where
there are several farms. Near to Lostock Green, a building called the Old
Castle was pulled down about 50 years ago, contiguous to which was a burial
ground; but the gravestones have all been removed, and the site ploughed
over. The last interment took place about 70 years ago.
